Meet Our Pastor & His Family

Pastor. Husband. Dad.

Jared Gregor is the founder and lead pastor of The Journey Church. He and his wife, Jenna, pioneered this church in 2014. They have three children: Kaylee, Keaton, and Scarlett, who is in heaven.

“Feel free to call me, ‘Pastor’ if it makes you feel comfortable, but to me and most of those who attend The Journey, I’m just Jared.  My wife Jenna and I met in youth group, and were married in 2008.  Both of us had served in youth ministry as volunteers for several years.  In 2013, we both at the same time felt a call from God  to become church planters, something we had never considered before, but was suddenly something very realistic and couldn’t be ignored.

I had never intended to become a church planter, even throughout seminary school.  However God used all of our time as volunteers to ready us for what He had, and along with it: several of the kids we had in youth ministry growing up, were now adults and were looking for a church!  God’s timing truly was perfect, and we’re glad we listened.

I believe my mission as a pastor is to make being the church part of everyone that calls the Journey their church home.  Not to just attend services, but to BE the church.  Throughout the New Testament there are several things that we see throughout the early church: people loved one another and forgave each other, they taught one another and put their spiritual gifts to work within the body of the church, they prayed together and studied Scripture, and they shared the message of Jesus with others.  That’s what I strive to preach, and I hope you’ll see that when a group of people get together and live this way, it’s a lot more exciting than just showing up for a service on Sunday mornings.

Along with being a pastor, I’m also a drug and alcohol therapist at a local rehab facility.  I have a strong desire to help people who are struggling in their addictions.  I know what it’s like to be in a dark place and find Jesus.  I love that I get to be in that position to help other people find Jesus whenever they are in a difficult place.  There are several people in our church family who are in recovery, and I always hope that this number of people finding Jesus out of the darkness is growing.

Jenna and I are blessed to have our children: Kaylee and Keaton.  Each of them love being in our children’s ministries which are rapidly growing and ever taking over our church’s space!  Kaylee at age 9 just recently started a kids led ministry called Kids On A Journey.  I couldn’t be more proud, as she is already teaching children her age as well as children as young as 2.

We would love to have you be part of our church family, and experience the movement that God has been creating through this group of believers!”
