Discover what it looks like to have a relationship with God.
Stranded Without Jesus
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
Without Jesus, we’re stranded in sin.
There’s a standard of righteousness we’re meant to live by, and none of us measure up to it.
Even if we go to church, do good things, or even read the Bible… none of this can bring us closer to God’s standard of righteousness.
As long as we fall short, we face the reality that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
Why Jesus Came
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Jesus came to overcome the sin that stands in the way between us and God.
At a place called Skull Hill, Jesus died on a cross. While hanging there, God took every sin you’ve ever committed and put it on Jesus. He became your substitute, dying in your place.
But Jesus didn’t stay dead. On the third day, he rose from the grave to offer life, forgiveness, and salvation to anyone who believes in him.
Jesus didn’t come to make bad people good. He came so dead people could live. So that you, separated from God by your sin, could be forgiven.
Find Your Home, Find Your Purpose
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4
If you feel restless… an ache you can’t shake … as though this world weren’t enough… That’s because it’s not.
You were created for a person and a place. That person is Jesus. And that place is heaven. Until you have a relationship with Jesus and are headed to your true home, nothing in this world can ever truly satisfy you. You’ll always feel like something’s missing.
As you come to know God through his son, Jesus Christ, you’ll be made new. Jesus will orient you so you’re headed to heaven, your true home. And he’ll use you right here on this earth, giving you purpose while you’re alive on the way to going home.
How to Put Your Faith in Christ
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
When you’re ready to trust Jesus and receive his forgiveness for all your sin, the next step is to simply tell him that you commit to believing in him.
You can put your faith in Jesus by telling God:
- Where you’ve been: “God, I know that I’m a sinner. I know that I’m far from you.”
- What you believe: “I believe in Jesus Christ, that he died on the cross, rose from the dead, and brings me near to you, God.”
- What you’re promising to: “I choose to follow you, God.”
- How you’ll live your life: “I give you my life from this day forward.”
- What you need to live out your promise: “Please fill me with your Holy Spirit, and give me your power, grace, and strength to live the life I was born to live.
What Now?
When you tell God that you’ve put your faith in Jesus… if you say it and mean it… then you are forgiven and adopted into his family.
You might not feel any different. But the gospel is about facts, not feelings. If you believe in Christ, then you’ve been forgiven, and he has come into your life.
